I like to teach others in a way that works for them so every student has a tailored teaching programme. Learning is not a one size fits all and I make sure that the student I’m teaching at any one moment is the star of their own show.

Whether it be teaching a person how to speak in front of a small group such as their classmates or a crowd for a public event, I feel the root of becoming a strong, confident speaker is to understand where their nerves come from. Getting to the root of the individuals problem is key to overcoming it and so I feel a tailored approach is better. Public speaking doesn’t come naturally to everyone, but is a skull everyone can master and I feel I can help those who need it.

Mastering the spoken English language can often be difficult for non-natives and so developing vocabulary and identifying the nuances between the spoken and written word can be key to their success. Having studied pedagogy and writing at a university level, I have a unique approach to developing this skill. Oftentimes the difference between the written and spoken word can cause difficulty for people and developing these skills can be key to success. I’m a firm believer that any skill we develop can be honed and perfected, and language is no different.

In both my public speaking and language lessons, students can expect to be eased in, they can be feel comfortable and at east and never fear being discriminated against for their current skill level or to be punished or admonished for their slip ups. I feel that traditional teaching practices can take a punitive approach and that will not happen with me. I have a BSc in Science with a focus on archaeology, an MSc in Business and IT with a focus on marketing, an MA in Digital Cultures with a focus on educational technologies and a Postgraduate Diploma in Design Thinking where I focused on educating educators on how they approach the sensitive topic of LGBTQ+ issues in the classroom. I feel my education and professional like uniquely qualify me for this role as a tutor because I have been through many forms of education, from punitive to laid back and I enjoy passing these skills on to others.
