have over 10 years of experience working in secondary schools and I believe the knowledge and skills acquired during this time make me the perfect candidate to teach any student. I have also been working for Remedy Tutors for the last 15 months doing mainly online Maths and English lessons for primary and secondary school pupils. Previously with Em Tuition, I’ve also taught History lessons and Maths lessons to a student who was 18 years old and had autism. I got good grades in college doing A Level History and Psychology when I studied at Bradford College. I also got a 2:1 Bachelor of Honours in History; which included one of the modules in my final year having a whole year working in a secondary school concluding with me teaching a lesson on the History of Huddersfield to a class of year 9s. These experiences meant I was able to teach these topics to A Level college-age pupils online last year. My experience of Supply teaching in secondary schools in the UK and America since 2014 has enabled me to gain experience teaching every topic for pupils aged
I usually spend the first lesson getting to know the students and seeing if they have additional needs. Some students are more visual learners and some do better from seeing how to do an example question and then having a go themselves. I have experience delivering tutorial sessions face to face or online as I teach English and Maths at primary and secondary levels. Tailoring the needs of the child, coupled with my enthusiasm and dedication results in the students I teach always fulfilling their potential. I have a proven track record of students regularly seeing me in the town center and saying: 'That is Mr. Swales, he's amazing'. I take pride in my job and love that I have been able to help so many people as I continue to teach today.
I have some bullet points of the different techniques that I use when teaching maths online:
Visual learning/teaching
Showing examples
Setting them questions
Teaching them different techniques
Using a whiteboard on Zoom to show how to do questions with a step-by-step process.
