My name is Joseph, I have an A* in A level Politics and I am studying the subject at a Russell Group University. I wholeheartedly enjoy the subject and I have a passion to teach others. My exam technique, knowledge of UK and US examples, formulating study resources and teaching methods will ensure that my students get a deep understanding. My younger sister is currently studying the subject and I have been tutoring her, this has led to an excellent improvement in her grades and understanding. This has improved my teaching skills and I believe that I have the ability to improve the grades and confidence of every student. I will focus on areas of weak understanding first, as A level Politics requires a core understanding to push on to the higher levels. Once I have explained difficult areas with engaging lessons I will move on to key essay techniques and high level examples that will impress the examiner. I can guarantee that learning hours with me will be useful and a safe space for trial and error. If a concept does not come naturally there will not be extreme pressure to understand it quickly, as the one to one environment allows for repeated explanation and useful analogies. Furthermore, I have made lots of A3 mind maps, essay plans and other revision resources that I can help students make for themselves. These revision skills can be transferred to other subjects. Therefore, I include the benefits of a deep understanding of UK Politics, US Politics and political ideas whilst also having key revision techniques. In summary, every A level Politics student can be guaranteed a personal learning experience with someone who has recently faced the difficulties of A level Politics.
