For how the lesson is going to run first I usually get my students to start with a warmup activity. The question from the activity are going to be from different parts of the curriculum to test what areas there strong or weak at, and for them to get ready to learn maths. Then we would review the questions and correct the mistakes and understand where they have gonna wrong. Afterwards where going to do a new topic. The topic is either requested by student or is one of the topics that student struggled with during the warm up questions. After we cover the topic we’re going to do exam questions to make sure the exam technique is there and the student is getting all of the marks they deserve. Closer to exams or mocks we’re going to focus more on past papers and make sure the student is ready to do the whole exam papers. After every lesson there will be optional practice questions for the student to do in their own time. I have used this technique of teaching before many times with students of different ages and they all achieved amazing results, because they learned not only the content of the curriculum but also the techniques to answer exam questions. Which allowed them to tackle harder problems by knowing how to break the question down into less daunting and smaller problems which the students learn how to solve step by step. Nothing is more rewarding then being able to solve maths problems which you thought were impossible, but no maths questions is impossible to solve with the right learning techniques
