I like to find a wide range of activities and analogies that can allow the students to imagine the concept of what we’re learning, beyond just writing it on paper. I form scenarios that can allow the students to visualise the problem and therefore figure it out easier, instead of just explaining it with 2 dimensional numbers. If the student doesn’t understand one explanation, I can find another until they do. I provide the students with homework depending on their level of ability, and always check the homework the following lesson immediately to ensure informational retention. This homework is passed on to the parents via a feedback conversation and confirming with both parent AND child what ways are working and what they want to achieve.
