I am a qualified high school Geography Teacher from the South Wales, UK but pivoted to pre-school and adult education in 2020 teaching English as a foreign language in Cape Town, South Africa.
My lessons are fun, creative and knowledgable. Using my professional background to inform the content and structure to allow students to make excellent progress.
I start with a warm-up which is normally a game based upon the previous lesson(s) content to get the student engaged, build a sense of achievement and allow me to see what information has been consolidated. From there we go onto the lessons aims and objectives, highlighting what this session we plan on achieving and get into the main lesson content.
As a highly creative individual lessons will be varied to meet the students learning style, some will involve conversations, some will be more like educational games, some will be learner led and others will require active study. Using a range of strategies to cover necessary content and insure understanding, checking the information is clear, concise and understood so good outcomes can be achieved.
Throughout the lesson we will consolidate to ensure the learner is understanding and making good progress to achieve the aims and objectives. At the end of the lesson we will come back to our goals and do some question/answers to solidify the information learnt.
