Experienced geography teacher dedicated to nurturing students' curiosity and critical thinking skills. Passionate about creating engaging learning environments and fostering academic growth. Skilled in differentiation and adapting teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs. Committed to continuous professional development and collaboration with colleagues. I have eight years of teaching experience three years in a state school in London and five years in schools in Auckland New Zealand. I love what I do, and I’m always looking to help my students grow in academic confidence and become outstanding members of the community.
Research is clear about the importance of the relationship between student and teacher. Building confidence in your abilities, growing a sound understanding of what you need to know and how you need to communicate that in an exam is what my lessons are all about.
Whether it is help with understanding content, writing essays or exam question practice, my lessons cover what you need to excel. Structurally in my lessons there is a focus on recapping and consolidating what you already have learnt. Next we would investigate an idea using a range of different theories, look at contemporary case study examples before working through a number of exam questions, exploring exam technique require by the examination body.
I did my undergraduate degree in Geography at Edinburgh, and my PGCE and Masters in Education at university Cambridge.
Geography is a fantastic subject that encourages a curiosity about the world around us. I look forward to working with you.
