I ask questions to gauge your understanding of a topic and determine if you have any misconceptions (things that you think you know that are actually incorrect), as well as what you know and don't know.

Once we have done a formative assessment, I can then target my teaching to help you learn the content correctly if you have any misconceptions, or I can teach you new content by building up from what you do already know.

This all ensures that you have a strong foundational knowledge of mathematics that you can build upon, which makes it much easier when learning new content.

I have taught many, many teachers 'how to teach' using best practices, and consistently get students excellent results with my methods.
