I am a secondary math teacher and personal tutor. I have been fortunate to work in small schools where I am able to devote the majority of my time to individuals and small groups. It is difficult to excel in math without that one on one attention. That is why I want to be your tutor. I know we will reach your goals together.

My approach is to start with grade level content and individually assess your needs within that content. For any gaps in understanding, we will take small steps backward until we find the point of confusion. Math is mostly linear, and there is always a point we can back up to where the misunderstanding is occurring. Once we discover that point, we will focus on moving forward from there until we reach understanding at grade level. I will give plenty of practice and examples, with emphasis on deep understanding rather than memorization.

I am most experienced in Algebra and Geometry, but have taught everything from (US) grade 7 math to Trigonometry. I have 16+ years experience teaching secondary math. My greatest measure of success is the high number of students each year that tell me they understood and enjoyed math for the first time they can remember. I pride myself in giving students the tools to be self sufficient and quantitatively literate. I will do what it takes to help you reach your goals and your mathematical potential.
