Jon Baud

I have 25 years of professional career experience, working in a range of roles across different industries and sectors. I have held senior positions in travel and tourism, sales and marketing, residential and commercial property agency, hospitality and retail jobs.

I am a native English speaker, I am somewhat fluent in French and I also know some very basic Spanish, German and Swedish - I am a lover of language and communication.

In many of my roles I have interviewed and recruited staff and been responsible for their career progression, training and ongoing development. I communicate clearly and will tailor lessons individually with your input, so that you are learning what you need.

Whether you’re a complete beginner, are looking to practice your spoken conversational language skills, want to to learn more about culture, history and current affairs, or you are a company employee who is looking for specific help, advice and mentoring to further your career within sectors I am familiar with, I will provide the materials and lessons to help you.

Once we have completed an initial needs assessment, we will discuss how lessons will be structured and what you will be learning. These will typically be conducted through an online platform such as Zoom, and I will create engaging content so that lessons are fun, targeted and useful - learning should be enjoyable not painful! There are a wide range of resources available so that you can practice your speaking and listening, while I will also set written tasks to complete based on what we have covered.

I will regularly seek feedback to make sure you’re learning what you need to and also to make any changes to the lessons as required, as it is always a work in progress to find the right balance.

My sole focus is for you to gain confidence and the ability to use English more fully, for whatever your purpose.
