I really enjoy teaching English at all levels from secondary to undergraduate to postgraduate as well as for business communications. I like teaching pupils for whom English is their second language. I teach pupils who may not have confidence in their language and written skills and show them how they can gain proficiency and ownership of their communications. All of this I can achieve in the context of any forthcoming exams and curriculum requirements.

I use both close-reading and wider comprehension techniques, looking at vocabulary, grammar, syntax and overall meaning. I am skilled and experienced in teaching the Cambridge English Language proficiency levels and I often teach these alongside the pupils' requirements to study for exams such as GCSE, A Level and A/S Level. I also enjoy teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

My love of literature is deep and goes very wide. Just ask me!

I use a variety of tools - books of course!, videos and recordings, whatever is required for the specific requirements of the student.

I am always happy to be guided by a student's preferred way of studying and this flexibility creates a relaxed and purposeful study ambience.

In my perception, all students, however initially unconfident they may be about language and communications, are authors in their own right and can take full ownership of their own stories, whether for exams, presentations, business, citizenship and / or undergraduate and postgraduate assignments.
