For private tuition I have taught mathematics for key stage 2 and preparation for key stage 2 SATs and entry to secondary school. I have also taught GCSE double science and mathematics plus A-level chemistry for secondary school students, as a private tutor.
My private tuition focuses on finding out what the student wants to achieve, helping them to move from where they are to where they want to be. Tuition centres on identifying what difficulties or problems the student may have with a subject, then building a personalised approach that helps students to make progress, increase confidence and ideally enjoy becoming successful. Once the student has developed confidence in the subject they can learn how to pass exams and course work. I try to make tuition fun, students do enough lessons at school and don't need more of these after a hard day at school. By quickly finding and solving problems, developing approaches that help students to be successful they can make the progress that they want and overcome whatever was holding them back. I also coach and mentor students so that they have the full, confidential support that they need and the confidence to be independent and resilient learners for their future learning and training needs.
