Each individual lesson is tailored to the individual in question. First task is to discover what the students ideal learning style is, be it visual learning such as worked examples, or if the student retains information better via oral discussion. The majority of education in my experience is a teacher or lecturer simply talking through the information and expecting students to understand and retain it all. This doesn't work for most individuals who need to discuss the topic and consider it from multiple angles and worked examples to have what I like to call the light bulb moment.
Most education is tailored towards simply having the correct answer to pass an exam, real life applications and full understanding of a topic allow students to more easily retain the information more easily and prepare them for the working world.
