My lessons focus on identifying and breaking down areas that are problematic for the student into basic principles, then building up from there. With engaging, step-by-step explanations and personalised guidance, I ensure a strong grasp of fundamental concepts.

Would you try to build a house with broken tools? Of course not! That's why understanding the basic concepts of each topic deeply is so important, they are the tools in your belt, and with them, you can solve even the most complex questions.

Each student is different and has different needs, and so my methodology for conducting sessions varies. In my view, an important aspect of the partnership between tutor and student is working together to find the most beneficial structure for learning. Ultimately, this comes down to finding the right balance of practice questions and topic deep-dives. Students will receive a volume of homework appropriate to their schedules and needs, and will be encouraged to bring with them to the session any questions they have struggled with since the previous session for examination.

Ultimately, succeeding in maths will look different for every pupil, and my role will always be to provide guidance on the road to achieving that success. My background in GCSE content creation and experience as an engineer ensures that I bring both theoretical knowledge and practical problem-solving skills to each session, making learning both effective and enjoyable. By fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment, I aim to inspire confidence and a love for maths in all my students, no matter their percieved ability.
