First 10 minutes spent working on the strengths of the student. 5 minute beak. Last 45 minutes spent on working on the areas where the student is struggling.
I set one piece of homework for the student per week. This is for them to work on that area in their own time, using the skills learnt during the sessions. This is due for the following week.
When they bring back the work, we go through it and see how they did, and any improvements needing to be made.
Closer to exam periods (mocks and the real exams), we do practice exams every session.
Speaking tests
Listening tests,
Reading tests,
Writing tests,
I mark these then give feedback. Students have found this particularly helpful in preparation for the speaking tests.
I am very versatile in my teaching methods and adapt accordingly to the unique learning styles and abilities of the student.
