As a passionate and hard-working student myself, I have a strong understanding of what helps students learn effectively. My lessons will be completely personalised to suit your wants and needs; I can provide in-depth explanations and I will always make sure you understand content through quizzes, practice papers with exam-style questions, regular check-ups on topics and anything else you may need.

For online tutoring, I can use an online whiteboard that me and my students can collaborate on to make notes, Powerpoint and other Office 365 tools in order to produce the most effective lessons that can be saved, edited and are easily accessible to edit at any time. In person, I can provide papers with relevant information and practice questions, and we can read relevant books and relevant texts together in order to maximise understanding.

Currently at sixth form, I am a literacy mentor for a year 8 student below her reading age, and my responsibility within this role to support her by reading books out loud together has helped to give me the skills required to be an amazing tutor as I am now skilled in communication, understanding and teamwork. This one-on-one mentoring has clearly been effective as I can see my student’s reading skills and confidence improve every week. Furthermore, for the past 9 months I have regularly been babysitting for children of primary school age, meaning I understand how to communicate with them in a friendly manner in order to make sure they follow rules and have fun!
