Each lesson differs. For younger students, I like to implement a level of fun into our lessons, using word and grammar games to help not only learn the basics, but also to make the experience of doing so enjoyable. We will work towards reading goals book by book, ensuring the student has a voice in what we are reading, and I will work with students and parents on a more individual level as the lessons progress, and tailor our classes to each student as we develop.
For older students, while I still try to keep a large element of passion and fun within my lessons (as I think this is an integral key to learning that is often missed out in school), I also provide lessons that are much more in depth in regards to English. Having achieved a first class joint honours in English Lituratute, and Creative writing and Journalism, I can provide lessons not only in both creative writing and non-creative writing, but also in the discussion and dissection of literature. Our lessons will focus in on the coursework you need, where we will work through it together. Rather than simply rehashing the same points you can hear from your teacher, or pick up on studynotes, we will engage in lively debates and writing activities that allow you to delve deeper into your texts, adding the extra mile to your studies that you might otherwise miss out on. English liturature is a passion of mine, and I can promise this is evident in my lessons.
