Hi there. My name is Joba and I am a 3rd year undergraduate studying Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at the University of Bristol. I went to a school called Canford where I did my GCSE’s and A-Levels. I specialise in Maths and all 3 Sciences, particularly Physics, where I did the IGCSE specification. I like to go at the student's pace, tempering my expectations and their ability. Since I am very maths focused, I’ve found from my 2+ years of tutoring as well as 10+ years of student experience that doing exam questions is the best way to learn in these particular subjects. Therefore, I prefer to teach my tutees the content and have them practice with questions to quantifiably access their progress. A typical lesson will be an hour-long including marking previously set homework and/or starting a new topic once the student has gotten comfortable with the previous one. I use a website called Showbie where I set my tutees their homework and they can complete it for us to go through in the following lesson, focusing on topics that they struggle with.
