I have a PhD degree in history of Europe in Modern period (Univ. of Paris I-Sorbonne) and for more than 25 years I worked as a teacher and researcher in Higher education, mainly with students of Applied Arts courses such as Design and also Marketing and Advertising.

During this period of time I studied and taught a variety of disciplines: different subjects related to Science and Technology in the perspective of its historical evolution, as well as the History of Applied Arts; as part of the support to students of Master's degrees in the preparation for their final work, I taught as well Research Methodologies in Social Sciences.

Although my students are predominantly local, i.e. Portuguese, in the last 8-10 years the number of students coming from other countries in Europe, the Americas and elsewhere has tended to increase. So, both my «classic» classes (i.e. face-to-face), as well as the support I always provide through the specific online sites I create and maintain for each of the subjects I teach -- all interactions in person and online with my students take place in English and/or Portuguese.

Thanks to this experience, as well as the fact that I myself have studied in languages (and countries) other than my own (Russian and French), I understand the challenges facing any student who intends to study and communicate in a language other than it's own. So, although in the specific field of language teaching, I only have a Russian/Portuguese translator diploma, I believe I have the right profile to adapt to your interesting educational project including the teaching of my own language, Portuguese, to foreign students.
