I focus on a can-do, can-speak approach with communication at the heart of all my teaching. As a coach I can help students set personal goals for their language acquisition.

Speaking and Listening are the centre of my classes with reading, writing, exam practice, CV writing and interview or business presentation practice built in as required.

I have in-depth understanding of the challenges faced by some language speakers and the sensitivity and understanding involved in teaching refugees and asylum seekers.

In essence I will fill the students with a sense of confidence and enjoyment of learning a language.

I have a CELTA certificate, over 30 years experience and a DBS certificate.

I love meeting people from all over the world and I have travelled widely and enjoy talking on diverse topics, from current affairs to environmental issues, food, film and family!

I advise all students to study with Joanna. I was one of her students. She is an amazing teacher. She laughs a lot. Her teaching way is entertaining and not boring. She focuses on our weak points and teaches us the correct pronunciation. In every lesson, I have a new vocabulary encyclopedia, as every time she tries to teach us new vocabulary.

I was taught by Joanna for six months. Her English lessons turned out to be invaluable, since she puts a lot of herself into her job and she tailors the lessons around the students' requirements. She is welcoming, flexible and she focuses on weaknesses that students have finding always the most comprehensive, effective and straightforward way to overcome them. . What's more, she does lots of extra-work if people need that! She was not just a teacher to me but even a friend! The time I spent with her was a stonking good time! Highly recommended!

I really enjoy my lessons with Joanna. She is the best teacher I have ever had. Joanna always tries to find an individual approach to me, understand my interests and make the lesson exiting. She corrects my mistakes in a very comfortable and respectful way. Thanks to Joanna I began to read books in English. She inspires me to move forward and be proud of myself.
