Initially, I will meet with parents/guardians and discuss what your needs are for your child. We can both assess whether we will communicate well and whether I can support your needs. I will then have an initial session with your child, where I can complete some academic assessments, again to make sure that I am the tutor for you. This is a very important relationship for us all, and we need to ensure it will be a fruitful and enjoyable one.
Once we agree that I am, I will use materials and activities I think would support your child’s learning. These will be re-assessed as we move through the weeks.
I have practice papers, photocopied sheets and practical activities that will develop the skills required to make progress.
For Common Entrance, I have a bank of materials that will focus on the skills needed to pass the exams required to progress to the school of your choice.
Again, be reassured that I am very experienced as a tutor and can call on years of previous work to make sure I give your child what they need to make great progress.
I listen to parents/guardians and the children themselves, so as to focus on where the needs lie. It is about building confidence and self-esteem, and making education fun.
