Usually, i like to start my lessons by bonding with the student learning a little bit more about themselves and also very importantly identifying their gaps because there is no point in working on topics in which they are already solid. Once we've identified your gaps I will then start to teach them the content in which they lack knowledge. But instead of just teaching them i will also do various exercises to make sure that the new knowledge is being engraved into their long-term memory. I like to teach students about my flashcard methods and games that can help them remember topics, and also as an ex-A-level student i know it can be frustrating when a teacher is just talking at you so i like to do the teaching method where after we go over a topic i will then take the time to let the student teach me that same topic as if i were the student because i find that can also be a helpful form of remembrance into long term memory. But most importantly i am prepared to be here to support you by ensuring that you are achieving your goals in the best way possible, i want to emphasise that these 1-1 lessons are about the student's needs and i want my students to feel comfortable telling me if they do not like my current teaching style so that i can change my ways to benefit the student as much as possible!
