Hello, my name is Jinwook Kim, I'm a native Korean, and I worked for Coca-Cola Korea Company for 20 years. In the company, I taught the Korean Language to directors from the UK, USA, South Africa, Germany, and Hong Kong. Therefore, my strong point is the business Korean Language.
However, I'm not a very serious tutor. I can teach the Korean language with lyrics of Korean songs, and dialogue scripts of Korean movies and dramas, which are real-life languages. Sticking overly to grammar and linguistics may make the students get bored and stop learning any language. "Balancing" between hard and soft aspects of language is very important. I'm very good at it.
Language is valuable only when it's combined with the knowledge of culture and manners, especially for Business Korean. I teach not only the Korean language but also Korean culture, general manners, and business manners.
My teaching range is quite wide from extremely serious, high-class business Korean to fun-oriented K-Pop, and dialogue scrips of K-Movies, and K-Dramas. For example, everybody remembers what Terminator said in the Movie, Terminator 1 & 2, "I'll be back." Have you seen any Korean movies or dramas with this kind of short and powerful message? Have you seen dubbed Korean movies or dramas in English and wondered how was the real Korean actors or actresses’ voices, and what exactly did they say? If you have seen original Korean movies or dramas with English subtitles, it's easier for us to start!
If you are preparing for tests such as TOPIK, I can help you with the easiest and quickest ways.
Hope to see you soon!
