A key feature of my lessons is that they will be interactive, while there will be short periods of time where I will do the teaching, most of the session time will be revolved around the students engagement. This is because Maths is a practice sport and the only way to succeed in it is by repetition and consistency. If the students would like they can bring their own work for us to work through the session with, if not I will have prepared worked examples and worksheets for us to progress through containing the students weak points that they have specified.
Previously I tutored Year 7 & 8 students during my time in secondary school and I learned a lot from my time teaching them, an important lesson I learnt here was how crucial it was to bond with students in order to maintain a nice student teacher relationship. As their tutor I feel like I can help a student with their academics besides Mathematics, being a GCSE student recently I know and understand the struggles students go through having to balance numerous subjects, which is why I can help my students with any queries they have regarding revision techniques, revision timetables, information regarding allocating time towards certain subjects and any other struggles they may be facing. To ensure that students retrieve the work that we covered in the lesson I will be setting homework based off of what we have covered in that session, I will also be giving immediate feedback afterwards.
