In terms of teaching methods, I will use a range of formats to cater to to different learning styles and preferences. Typically, I would first gain an understanding of the students ability at that specific topic (for example quadratic equations) to see where they are at and what they need to improve on. Teaching the content would consist of going through an example of a question within that topic step by step making sure they understand thoroughly during the process. After having gone through some examples and making sure the student has understood the concept, I willl give them questions from that topic with increasing difficulty from textbooks, worksheets and other online resources. I will also use visual aids such as graphs, diagrams and charts to help explain key concepts and to make the material more engaging. I will also provide active feedback and assessments to track the student's progress and adjust lessons as needed to ensure they are making the most effective use of their time. As well as helping the student develop the knowledge and skills they need for Maths, I will also provide them with practical advice that they can use during the exams to ensure that they maximise their mark to achieve the best grade. These tips consist of how to manage their time, how to deal with pressure and anxiety during an exam, and how to approach questions that may seem challenging to them. An effective way that I will prepare them for their exams is by giving them exam-style questions in timed conditions.
