My goal is to bring your History courses alive by making them engaging and relevant to you. I like to tailor my lessons to each individual's needs, abilities, and interests, and each lesson might look different! As a result, my lessons are original and interesting.
My lessons will be delivered over Zoom or Microsoft Teams, whichever is most accessible to you as a student. Depending on the student's needs and abilities, I may set work to be completed outside of our lesson time, which we can then go over during the class if you have any questions or if I feel you need further time spent on that topic. All of our sessions can be recorded and resources will be stored on an online platform such as Teams.
I will tailor my lessons to individual areas such as content or skills to best meet your individual needs and abilities. Lessons will be much more informal than a classroom setting, and will generally be more discursive and participatory than lecture style. In our first session, we will determine your preferred/best learning method, and work together to put together a teaching model best suited to you.
I feel it is important to keep parents/carers in the loop regarding their child's progress, and so I am able/willing to do this in order to best support you as a student.
I have experience working with children aged 7-18 years, and first-hand knowledge of the SQA, and of GCSE and A-Levels within the English system.
