This will then be followed by a variety of vocal warm ups. These warm ups can consist of scales, riffs and runs, breathing techniques and facial movements, all of which are necessary to prepare for the voice in a healthy way.
Occasionally, games will be played as I like to have a friendly relationship with my students as I believe this is a great way for the student to feel comfortable and more open to their lessons.
A song will either then be selected by the student or offered by me from my repetoire, ensuring the song fits the students desired genre. This part of the lesson explores vocal techniques , the meaning of the song, indulging in the character, and applying their knowledge to the song. Students will recieve supportive feedback on their performance to ensure they can progress with full ability.
