From my experience with previous students, I love to adapt the lessons that would best suit my indiviual students personally and create lesson plans and schedules that would best help them improve the skills they need most care and attention towards! I most specifically favour incorporating more cognitive-based lessons where my student can retain and recall the contents of the lessons.
English language learning is a crucial skill in today's globalized world, and understanding the typical structure of English language lessons can help us be better English speakers! I believe one to one learning that is verbalised is most useful when it comes to long term rememberance and memory of specific words and language rules of pronouncation that is needed to become fluent English speakers!
However, overall my normal lessons usually follow a structured format that aims to develop learners' skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The format may vary depending on the level and the specific objectives of the example, starting with warm ups: an activity to engage students and activate their prior knowledge. Then, I will introduce the lesson's topic, objectives, and the new key language skills to be focused on. I will then present new language concepts, grammar rules, vocabulary, or language structures. Then I allow students to engage in various activities to practice the language skills introduced. This can include individual exercises, pair work with me, role plays, discussions, or writing tasks. My aim is to provide opportunities for my students to apply the newly acquired language knowledge and receive feedback. At the end of the lesson, there is usually a review session to reinforce the concepts covered. I will summarize the key points, address any questions or doubts, and provide constructive feedback to enhance my students progress.
