I tailor the formatting of the lessons depending on the student. If the student struggles with focusing for long periods of time, I am happy to implement breaks as and when necessary.

I tend start by going through past paper questions to find the topics that the student struggles with most and then I will work with the student on their understanding of those trickier topics (while also occasionally going back to other topics that the student doesn't find as difficult to make sure they have a broad understanding).

I implement many styles of teaching, making sure that the way I am teaching fits the students needs for an optimal outcome. Over the last couple years that I have been tutoring, I've developed multiple methods for most maths topics meaning that if the conventional way of working out doesn't work for them, I can teach other methods until one sticks (making sure to stick within the curriculum)

I try to be as flexible with my tutoring schedule as possible so that if a student needs to miss a session, another can be arranged at a different time or on a different day. I work in the interest of the student and am happy to work around their needs as much as I can.

I'm currently a university student studying Maths and Physics in the university of York so I'm very secure in my understanding of GCSE level maths.

I like to get to know my students a bit so that a comfortable workspace is created within my lessons. This means that my students are happy to ask questions and not afraid to get things wrong. I like to remind my students that getting questions wrong is completely ok as long as they work to improve.

Thank you for reading my profile, I hope you will consider hiring me as a tutor.

We are so grateful for the exceptional tutoring our daughters received in both physics and math. The tutor’s ability to break down complex concepts into understandable steps made a huge difference in their understanding and confidence. Both girls have shown noticeable improvement and feel much more prepared for their exams. The tutor was patient, supportive, and genuinely invested in their success. Highly recommend!

My daughter was very nervous about having a tutor, very anxious about what to expect and if she would look silly if she didn’t understand. Jess made her feel totally at ease, she was welcoming and kind to her needs. My daughter managed to increase her grades and had a much better understanding in her normal schools maths lessons due to Jess’s support. I would 100% recommend Jess - she built on her confidence as well as her grades. We are very thankful Jess had availability during her GSCE year!
