Approachable, dedicated and enthusiastic with a history of working with students aged 12-14 and younger students aged 6-10. My teaching style is interactive. Instead of staring at a screen trying to take everything in I will use apps like Quizlet and Kahoot to make the lesson engaging and fun. Further to this, I will show students how to structure exam questions and give them some to try independently. Lessons will be student focused: we will go into depth on the topic or exam questions which are the most challenging. In 2020, I was a teaching assistant at Brownies where I was responsible for managing and preparing interactive learning tasks for children aged 6-10 to boost group engagement. Most importantly, I created a positive group atmosphere by encouraging open communication and support. In high school, I volunteered as a peer mentor. This leadership role enabled me to be a supportive role model, assertive and proactive. The position demanded duties such as going to weekly meetings to voice, on behalf of my peers, what changes were needed within the school. I became responsible for comforting younger pupils who were struggling to adjust to the new school environment and helped them with any homework or challenging work in GCSE English and History. I offer a safe and engaging learning environment to stimulate student growth both personally and academically. It is in my best interest to offer my knowledge and instruction to scaffold important skills such as problem solving, independent learning and a drive for working hard.
