For me it's key to identify strengths and weaknesses for each individual student and plan a schedule of learning accordingly. Traffic light systems ranking topic confidence encourage students to take control of their own revision and learning outside of lessons in addition to targeted practice and learning within lessons. Questions packs to have a go at sent at the beginning of the week and sent to me the day before the tutoring session are extremely helpful for identifying question types students struggle with and allowing lesson time to focus on these areas and go over errors.
