Jess Kallen

A lifelong musician living in Los Angeles, CA, I hold a decade of experience as a music educator, mentoring 200+ students since 2012. In addition to teaching, I am an in-demand touring and recording artist in the L.A music scene. Informed by my robust artistic background and holistic educational approach, I provide exceptional learning experiences that supports students at all stages of their education. 

In our private lessons, I will:

My personal experiences include:
- A decade of teaching experience working within various learning environments (large education non-profits, public and private schools, one-on-one lessons) and diverse populations.
- 20 years as a performing artist. I am a multi-instrumentalist and international touring musician, skilled in various popular musical genres.
- University-level academic achievements. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Southern California's prestigious Thornton School of Music. I was a Thornton Faculty Award Recipient, awarded Outstanding Senior in Studio/Jazz Guitar Department, on the Dean’s List, and graduated Magna Cum Laude.
- Flexibility navigating unique learning styles and scheduling needs. As a working creative, I bring a personal understanding when it comes to alternative modes of learning and nuanced scheduling needs. I will adapt an individualized model that suits your lifestyle and goals.
