Lessons with me are usually driven by the student. I always found that I learnt best when I was allowed to follow my own train of thought and make the subsequent connections, and so I offer the same courtesy to the students! No one person has the same brain and so understanding exactly what is being asked of me is crucial to helping someone learn. There is nothing more frustrating than finally working up the courage to ask for help only to be given advice which doesn't pertain to the issue at all. That's why I am a big advocate for following the questions to the root of the problem and working up from the basics, should the basics require attention.
I also suffer from extreme exam anxiety myself, and have witnessed the effect of the lockdown on young people taking exams. Despite this anxiety I have developed techniques and methods which have enabled me throughout my degree and would really like the opportunity to share them.
