I have experience engaging with young children in a learning environment both as a general teaching assistant and a science tutor. I will use power points or worksheets to simply display the main information of the lesson. However, I recognise that the best learning comes from directly talking to and questioning students and working through problems together. I will also ask students to reflect on their own learning and areas that need to be improved so that I can target their weakest areas with my lessons and maximise their learning. I will follow a rough lesson format of teaching theory, working through examples, and finally reflecting on the students learning in order to shape future lessons. Therefore, the content of the lessons will be tailored and personalised to a student's individual needs. I have achieved 9 GCSEs, 3 A-levels and I am now an undergraduate student at Durham University. Throughout my life I have always been passionate about my own education and educating others. I aim to create a friendly and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable to ask questions and make mistakes as this is one of the best ways to learn and improve the student's level of understanding. I am able to tutor students of a range of ages. I can tutor Biology, Chemistry, and French at A-level and below. I can also tutor Maths, English (Literature and Language), Physics and RE at a GCSE level or below. I am a native English speaker and so could also teach English as a second language.
