The lessons will be catered around the student's ultimate goals for the sessions; e.g. a qualification they are working towards, the areas of confusion, or personal goals. Importantly, I will work with their passions and interests when it comes to drawing, as well as their access to materials. At a a younger level, I will focus on the student's creativity and confidence whereas older students can engage in topics surrounding working as an artist, if they desire.
I will teach drawing and sketching techniques, how to take into account lighting and contrast, and composition. These will be taught through short exercises and critical thinking and individual preference is encouraged. Along with this, I will focus on how to find your personal voice as an artist and where to look for inspiration, and great habits to get into to improve confidence at every level.
I have been doing commissions for clients since 2014 including poster design, album covers and personal pieces. I have exhibited and ran print stalls, as well as done merchandise for bands. I use oil paint, fine liner and digital media and I value the importance of art education an history to inform your personal voice. We can go through portfolio curation, school applications, and tips on how to gain clients as an illustrator.
Art can be a lifeline, a therapy and an absolute must for a lush and joyful life, and I hope to encourage people to pursue their individual dreams and the things they enjoy most about drawing in a safe and supportive environment.
