Having worked in different capacities as a tutor, for four years, I have developed a good understanding of how to manage difficult people/situations. This is something I look forward to building on throughout the teacher training. I have developed strong will to motivate and encourage others to achieve their goals. As a team leader I developed leadership skills; especially in recognition of great achievement. I will be able to deploy these skills in the classroom as a good teacher has to be an effective class leader. I believe in students centered approach to learning. Engagement is important because it is key tool to ensure learning occurs and it reduces poor student behaviors by keeping them interested in their learning.
In my determination for this program, I have been trying to get a teaching placement to boost my experience, but no breakthrough yet. I am exploring teaching further online, to gain an understanding of teaching pedagogy in UK. I have subscribed to some sites to learn teaching and learning ideas and strategies. I have realized it is very important to engage students in their learning.
