Jennifer Mon

Mon Studio is the creative playground of Jennifer Mon (She/They), a queer creative of color from Lisbon, Portugal, now based in Southampton, UK.

In 2020, Mon moved to the UK to pursue further education and a career in the arts. During their studies, they discovered the works of Hannah Höch and Helina Metaferia, which sparked their passion for collage artistry.

Mon’s work combines texture, bold colors, expansive typography, and playful wit to examine societal roles through the perspective of a queer woman of color. Their mixed-media pieces capture authentic political and emotional experiences, centered on themes of identity and community. Through this lens, Mon's art underscores the significance of human connection and self-expression.

Eager to foster community and share the transformative power of collage, Mon organizes workshops and community-focused events to encourage others to explore creativity through play.
