I am an A-level student in the second year, currently predicted an A* in Maths and A in Chemistry. I received an 8 in Maths and a 9-8 in Combined Science at GCSE, and I am passionate about both subjects. Throughout GCSEs and the first year of A-levels, I have spent my time aiding my peers in their work and providing extra support for those who did not understand the content, whether struggling during the lesson or while completing assigned work.
My style of tutoring is however the content or tutee needs to be taught. There are various different ways to teach the content, but I believe it is important to find a method that suits the tutee's style of learning. If needed, I can start the topic over from scratch and begin teaching using comparisons and alternative explanations to ensure they understand the base of the topic, and then will expand to using examples and practice questions to put the learning into practice. Any specific questions that the tutee would like answered I will address and the tutoring will be tailored to what the tutee believes they would like help with. I will not usually request that additional work be done outside of the session unless the best way for the topic to be absorbed is with constant practice, or if the student would like to complete a topic or practice paper that I will mark and we can review during the next session.
I am happy to work online, in the tutee's home or at my own home, and am happy to travel reasonable distances for tutoring sessions, whatever is preferred.
