In my tutoring sessions, I like to take a personalised approach to help each student reach their academic goals. I usually start by getting a sense of where they're at and what areas need a bit of work. This helps me tailor the lessons to focus on what matters most. I make sure to go through the student's exam board requirements and any materials they have, so our sessions are always on point with what they need.
Each lesson starts with a quick recap to keep things fresh in their mind, and then I introduce new ideas with simple explanations and examples that make sense. A big part of my teaching is finding practice questions that fit the student's curriculum and level. These not only help with understanding but also give them a feel for the kinds of questions they’ll face in exams. I encourage students to work through these questions with me to build their confidence and critical thinking skills.
Creating a supportive, positive environment is really important to me. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and know that making mistakes is totally normal and part of learning. My goal is to spark an interest in the subject and help them feel more confident and in control of their learning.
