I'm a graduate of Roehampton University in Modern Languages (English, French, Spanish) with over ten years of professional experience in linguistics. I'm also experienced in giving English and French one-on-one lessons, online or in person.
Having a lot of experience with learning languages myself (I speak four languages!), I'm very familiar with foreign language classrooms, and I understand how intimidating or even daunting it can be to learn a new language, especially as an adult. That's why it's very important to me to create a positive and caring atmosphere during class, to take all of the stress out of learning and make it relaxed and fun. Making mistakes is the best way to learn, and I want all my students to know that it's safe (and even encouraged!) to make mistakes around me.
I'm a huge believer of learning through practice and repetition, and I think students will always be more motivated and interested to learn if they can relate to the lessons on a personal level. That is why I always make sure to understand why they want to study the language and what they hope to get out of their classes. I then tailor the classes specifically to their needs - someone studying to pass an exam, someone studying to move to a new country and someone studying for business reasons will all need different types of classes, and I know how to adjust my classes accordingly.
