Hello, bonjour,
I have taught French as a Foreign Language (français langue étrangère or FLE) in many different settings and countries, at most possible levels and to a wide range of learners, from Scandinavian kindergarten children adjusting to expat life in Belgium, to American Master's degree students training to become professional translators and interpreters in California, but also adult education students keen to get their French GCSEs in the North of England and university students in Seoul South Korea majoring in French.
At this late stage in my career, I am keen to offer my experience as a teacher in a variety of online French learning settings, preferably on a one-to-one basis. I have a great deal of experience dealing with particular challenges. If you're not comfortable learning a language, if you've had a difficult experiences so far, if you have to reach a certain level in no time or are late preparing for an exam, or just want conversation, I can help!
My teaching is participative and imaginative. I enjoy seeing my students make full use of every bit of French they know, be it after their very first French lesson, in a basic conversation, for instance, or at the highest level of proficiency, in real life situations such as presentations, interviews of negotiations. I am also an experienced teacher of translation. That being said, I also believe in the virtues of drills, recaps, games and role plays.
Finally, I am fond of Francophone cultures in general, from Montreal to Brussels, Paris to Dakar, and much more!
