My lessons consist of the basics of football. This starts with basic passing, dribbling and shooting drills. This can be passing the ball through cones of different distances and different widths. From short and long passes to crossing and passes with flair. Dribbling through cones consisting of sharp turns and getting used to dribbling with the weaker foot. Dribbling with added pressure and with high pace, learning to use all parts of the foot to move the ball fast and precise, game speed is what i like to call it. Shooting drills to improve on power and placement, from quick reaction tap ins, headers & volleys, penalties and shots from further out. Working on the technique thats needed for certain types of shot and the angles they are taken at. Ball control is a major factor, the better you can control the ball the better your all round game is. I like to teach the importance and ability of the first touch, from the ball falling from the air to receiving a hard low pass, how to control that first touch and what to do with the second touch in different situations. Football is also much more than what you can do with the ball, although the lessons are not matches its good to teach “off the ball” knowledge. Knowing how to play in your preferred position, what your role is, what you have to do whilst your team are in possession or when they are not. The runs you need to make as a winger/full back. The attacking position of a striker, being able to draw defenders away from the ball. The vision a midfielder needs to play a pass. The awareness a CB whilst out of possession. All this plus more.
i grew up loving football, i have been playing since consciousness kicked in. Im literally addicted to the sport, its my passion. My dad is a football coach in the east midlands, most of the stuff i know was taught to me by him, however i add my own flavour to things.
