Teaching Approach
I believe in a comprehensive, student-centered approach to teaching Maths and Physics, designed to foster a deep understanding of fundamental concepts and develop problem-solving skills. My teaching methods include:
Assessment
I may conduct an initial assessment to understand the student's current level, strengths, and areas needing improvement.
From there, it will be possible to set clear, achievable goals based on the student’s needs and aspirations.
Conceptual Understanding
I emphasize a strong understanding of basic concepts before moving to advanced topics or questions. On top of that, I try to implement the Socratic method: encouraging students to ask questions and engage in discussions to deepen their understanding.
Problem-Solving Skills
Of course I provide a variety of problems, from basic to challenging, to develop and enhance problem-solving skills. However , I place a strong emphasis on tackling difficult questions, as to ensure students have the competence to achieve a high grade.
I like to provide walkthroughs of the steps, ensuring that students do as much of the work as possible. This approach promotes active learning and reinforces problem-solving skills.
Personalized Feedback and Adaptation
I always ensure students grasp concepts thoroughly before moving on.
There will be regular feedback. Constructive, personalized feedback on homework and tests help students improve continuously.
Adjusting teaching methods and strategies based on the student’s progress is fundamental to any tutor, not excluding me.
Continuous Support and Encouragement
I provide supportive resources such as worksheets, online tools, and recommended readings for further practice. As well as that, I regularly track and review the student’s progress towards their goals, adjusting the learning plan as needed.
Exam Preparation
Arguably the most important thing for any student is effective exam techniques, including time management, question analysis, and strategic answering.
I also conduct mock exams under exam conditions as feedback from these is one of the best methods of improving a grade.
By focusing on these methods, I aim to help each student achieve their highest possible grade while fostering a genuine interest and confidence in Maths and Physics.
