The way I like to connect with students is to find out what is more engaging to you, may it be a powerpoint, talking through the topic, letting you get on with the work and analysing and reading over after. Whatever it may be I would like to adjust to the way the student prefers to learn as this will then make the lessons more effective and useful for them. I used to get tutoring and I found it so hard to enjoy the lessons and understand the content until I came across a tutor who had adjusted to my learning style and the lessons became engaging and interesting thanks to her i enjoyed the subject so much more, and realised I was good at it once i put my head down. I feel like students need a push from someone and that someone may be a teacher, family or even tutor and i would love to make a difference for someone the same way someone made a difference for me. I have an interest in teaching this will definitely help me become a better teacher as i will learn to accommodate and meet new personalities and try my hardest to make the subject enjoyable/ likeable. As i know it can be hard to try and engage with a subject you have absolute no interest in yet English is an important subject that everyone can be good at which is why i would like to tutor students to realise the subject is better and more interesting than we think.
