Patience, variety and making sure the student is comfortable through all lessons is my main aim. All lessons are written up and extra outer lesson study materials are send to help each student progress in their own time and at their chosen pace.
I always make sure the student is learning material and at a pace that is enjoyable for them, rather than just pushing teachings and pressures onto them. Collaborating with the student is a vital part of my teachings, from making sure they are comfortable with the instrument itself to what specific style and genres they prefer to learn and work with.
I also like to take time to work on the theoretical side of music, wether this be music score work or guitar tablature, helping the student to become better and more confident working independently so we can keep moving forward throughout the future lessons.
Along side learning how to play the instrument itself, I also find it important to show and teach the student how and why the guitar works and how they can maximise the use of the instrument, with lessons of how to clean, repair and do a basic set ups with their guitar, this includes changing strings and trouble shooting any issue they have or may arise.
For me every student is different and I love to cater to how they want to learn and will always make sure we can work together to get the most out of our time together and help them become the musician they want to become.
