15 years' experience as electronics engineer within Her Majesty Forces. BSc in Electronic System Engineering and currently studying an MSc in Military Electronic System Engineering.

Instructor experience training RAF and REME Electronic Technicians. Basic Maths through to EAL L3 maths. Electronic principles and fault-finding techniques, policy and Health and Safety.

Delivery of lessons can be via Skype or teams with plenty of examples to help. I like to use the EDIP process Explain, Demonstrate, Imitate and practice. Students are to discuss their requirements in advance of the lessons, providing opportunity for me to prepare a lesson plan. Lessons will normally last 55 minutes.

I will spend the first part of the lessons explaining the background and some practical examples of when the topic maybe required. For example, trigonometry. Calculating sides of a triangle can be used to calculate straight line distances, drift of ships, distances of flight paths in preparation to calculate fuel required etc.

I will then show the theory on an interactive screen where the student can watch the processes involved, opportunity to ask questions throughout are more than welcome.

The final part of the lesson will provide an opportunity for the student to imitate a variety of questions before being provided a homework sheet to practice after the lesson.

Additionally, students can email the 'homework' which will be marked, and feedback provided via email, free of charge. Or if the student would prefer to have an online session to discuss this can be arranged for a small fee.
