I would diversify my teaching methods using the methods my teachers used and methods i feel would be beneficial. I would try my best to involve the student and make it feel less like a lecture in a way they feel comfortable to ask questions. I would create an environment in which the students would not feel pressured or anxious to get questions wrong, and an environment in which I can help the students concentrate and learn to the best of their abilities. Through my education my teachers would constantly use methods that were not helpful to me and I feel like my experience of that would best let me apply that to my lessons, as I could improve and adapt to help create the best learning environment. I feel like being younger, whilst may make me appear inexperienced, will help me better connect to students as they feel like they are more comfortable with someone closer to their age, especially in a role of a tutor, not a teacher. I believe a tutor should not only teach the subject, but help the student to be comfortable, confident and capable. I am quite confident I will be able to help my students succeed in this subject even if they do not appear to have the aptitude or attitude towards learning. I think it is important to set homework as small, thought-out tasks, not menacing deadlines or lists and lists of questions. Above all I want to help students be happy to be learning maths, and see its application to real life and its uses in our lives as a whole.
