Completed all of my studies in Barbados, with detail to Chemistry, Biology and Physics at GSCE and A-Level equivalent, obtaining 9s at GSCE and A-A* at A-Level.
Experience working in small focus tutor groups in Barbados, tackling problem questions from exam specs or providing condensed notes on topics catered to mark scheme requirements. I also will be a PASS leader at the University of Bristol for BSc Chemistry, starting September 2024, where I will work with first year students as a Chemistry mentor for in-person group lessons. However, I also have previous experience working one-on-one with students alike during my secondary and post-secondary studies in Barbados.
I prefer online formats for tutoring sessions where discussion based and active learning is encouraged to cement core concepts. During these lessons, I will share notes on the agreed topic and then spend the latter half working with the student to answer a question focusing on model responses. We can then end the lesson by agreeing on the next lesson plan or answering miscellaneous questions related to the field of chemistry, or any science based subject.
Despite my advert for chemistry specific lessons, I am also willing to help students with Biology or Physics due to my experience.
I have great social skills and enjoy working with others sharing common interests, in the realm of science. As a current international student, my tutor lessons are flexible to all exam specs once specified at the beginning of tutoring sessions. I look forward to working with students and sharing my knowledge to better theirs!
