I currently do A-level French and intend to teach secondary school KS3 and KS4 students. I have several past experiences with tutoring and have helped with both basic understandings of the language, pronunciation and its rules, reading, exam prep, or areas where they believe they are weak. In my lessons, I plan on gaining an understanding of where the student is struggling which will help them develop a full understanding and prepare them for upcoming exams.
I have a good understanding of the GCSE curriculum as I have already taken the exam myself. My aim during the sessions is to make sure the students leave having gained an in-depth understanding of each topic for them to achieve the grades that they need.
Having tutored people in the past I understand that everyone has different needs and each work at a different pace. During the lessons, we may go through as many topics as the student chooses, and if a student is finding a topic particularly difficult, another lesson might be needed, and I will be patient while I continue to go through any topic until the student makes it clear to me that they do not wish to continue with the topic as they understand it
