Throughout my career, I have demonstrated a commitment to fostering creative expression and confidence in students of all ages and experience levels, from GCSE and A-Level to degree programs. My approach emphasizes hands-on, visually engaging lessons tailored to accommodate diverse learning styles including students that might have struggled in traditional learning settings or have been out of education for some time including varying learning disabilities and complex needs. I have worked for a decade as a Professional Mentor for universities allowing me to offer personalized support to learners, enriching their academic or vocational journey with practical industry insights and pastoral advice.
Beyond academia, my involvement with Plymouth Culture as a board advisor and my work with the Community Photographic Studios CIC highlight my dedication to community engagement and cultural development. These roles involved collaborating with local institutions, mental health charities, leading workshops, and managing exhibitions, all of which underscored the importance of connecting with and inspiring the wider community through art and holistic approaches to teaching.
I have also enjoyed various teaching roles at institutions such as Falmouth Art Gallery, Plymouth College of Art, and Plymouth Arts Centre, where I delivered workshops and lectures on topics ranging from surrealism to pinhole photography. These experiences have further honed my ability to create an inspiring and inclusive learning environment.
